General Office Help
Requirements: general office skills, including use of E-mail and MS Word; willingness to learn other software from time to time. Sunshiny temperament. Love of hummingbirds essential. Able to be in office on a more or less frequent basis, but not necessarily every day.

Solicitation of new Corporate Sponsors
Requirement: Experience in soliciting small, medium, and large companies for their sponsorship of the Hummingbird Society and its objectives. This could become a recurring project.
Solicitation of new Business Members
Requirement: Time to search the web for eligible companies who might want to become Business Members of the Society. Willingness to send out letters for this purpose.

Requirement: Dreamweaver experience with web page authoring; must own or have access to Dreamweaver software
a) Website revision
Our website is about halfway through its revision, using templates extensively to facilitate changes. The remaining pages need to be made consistent with the new design.
Some existing pages were written using Visual Basic, which we would like not to incorporate in the new version.
b) New web page driven by database
A new web section--video links with thumbnails--which we want to create could perhaps be done with PHP (for which we have no skills) but we are open to other alternatives; we prefer that MSAccess or MSExcel be used as the database.
c) Restructure Hummingbird Photo Gallery (www.hummingbirdsociety.org/photogallery)This page is currently working well, but we want to expand its capabilities, especially search options, and move away from Visual Basic if possible.
d) Notify existing registered photographers of our Hummingbird Photo Gallery to participate in our new e-newsletter for them

Requirement: exceptional experience in optimizing images using Photoshop; must own or have access to the software.
We are fortunate to have many photographers send us superb hummingbird images for use on our Hummingbird Photo Gallery. Traffic to our website is materially increased by our hummingbird images! However, nearly all these images need some cropping and optimization as well as embedding of our logo and our digital watermark.
And, unfortunately, new images sometimes (in fact, frequently) arrive at a very busy time in the office, and thus their posting becomes delayed. New images come in erratically--sometimes none for a month, then 20 in a single day. So, while this is a recurring need for us, it is not a regular need.
At most it should require only a few hours a month once we have caught up on our current backlog.
